Using macadamia butter in cooking

 In Recipes

It’s true we love to shout about our macadamia nut bars, and even our macadamia oil, but one thing which flies under the radar is macadamia butter.

Macadamia butter is gluten free, paleo and raw. Much like olive oil and avocados, Macadamia butter carries health benefits such as good amounts of mono-unsaturated fats, fibre and vitamin E. It aids the body in curbing inflammation and and helps regulate cholesterol levels.

Not only do we produce this wonderful product here at Waliz but we also use it regularly in our cooking. It’s an extremely versatile product to have in the kitchen as it can be used in dips, blended with chilli for a curry paste, enjoyed in satays, added to marinades or mixed with something sweeter like chocolate or fruit.

If you’re feeling adventurous you can make your own macadamia butter at home. Here is a video on how to do that. The easier thing to do is grab a jar of Waliz Macadamia butter and you’re all set! Either way, testing out Macadamia butter in your cooking is something you’ll have fun doing.

A personal favourite of ours for springtime barbeques is making ‘Lobster with Macadamia Nut Butter’. Given we are from a coastal community, our diet includes plenty of seafood so it’s only natural we combine two of our favourite things! You can find the recipe here at

No matter how you use it Macadamia butter is the bomb. Give it a try, you’ll be hooked!
